What: A new generation of Indigenous Australian artists Yirrmal and the Yolngu Boys, from North-East Arnhem Land, are making a refreshing entrance into the music scene.
Yirrmal Marika, who fronts the group, is an aspiring songwriter and guitarist with a beautiful voice; singing songs about his homeland and culture with feeling and depth beyond his years.
The Yolngu Boys – Dion and Jerol Wunungmurra and Mabo Mununggurritj have extensive knowledge of ceremonial “Manikay” songs, and are excellent singers, dancers and didgeridoo players.
Yirrmal and the Yolngu Boys are connecting a newfound sound and engaging the hearts of all who are lucky enough to hear them.
