What: Rhonda Jankovic Poetry Awards – Poetry of 50 lines on the theme of ‘Social Justice’ (theme is defined broadly)

Presentation Winners and Awards will be announced by highly acclaimed Australian Poets Judith Rodriguez & Tom Shapcott and the Radio 3CR Special Trophy will be presented by 3CR Broadcaster Santo Cazzati.

Winners will have the opportunity to read the winning poems.

What: The Balnaves Foundation Indigenous Playwright’s Award  The Balnaves Foundation Indigenous Playwright’s Award is the most prestigious award for Indigenous playwrights in Australia. The $20,000 award includes a $12,500 commission for a new play and a cash prize of $7,500.     Applications are open nationally. Last year the award was won by Larrakia/Bardi/Wardaman/ Yanuwa writer and performer Jada Alberts. In 2012 the inaugural award went to Gamillaroi/Torres Strait Islander writer Nakkiah Lui. Join Ranger Fi to hunt for eggs in The Briars Wildlife Sanctuary and learn about all the  different types of native animals that have laid them. You will have an eggcellent time exploring, playing games and making something special to take home for Easer.

Enjoy the ultimate bush experience and take a night bushwalk with Ranger Fi in the  Wildlife Sanctuary. With so much of our native wildlife coming out after dark,  a guided night walk is the best way to view them in their natural surroundings.  These walks are a combination of spotlighting for nocturnal animals,  learning about their environment and enjoying the wonders of the bush at night.
