composite of images

What: The Hinterland Scarecrow Festival is a community event that takes place during the September school holidays and is designed to take families, locals and visitors on an eclectic tour of our gorgeous hinterland region visiting a diversity of farmyards, cellar doors, gardens and food stores as they follow the Scarecrow Trail and Map.

We are calling for submissions from passionate local artists who are would like to have their creations displayed at a Hinterland based business. Scarecrow designers are always encouraged to rethink, re-use and recycle with their creations (there is a $250 Sustainability cash prize on offer) but in 2014 we also want you to get inspired by a theme that celebrates ‘Mother Nature.’

Where: The Hinterland Scarecrow Festival is located at various sites around the Mornington Peninsula Hinterland region. A trail map listing all participants will be published in September 2014 to coincide with the event.

When: The festival will take place from September 20th – October 19th Scarecrows must be ready for display and judging from September 16th and entry forms and payment are due by August 16th

Costs/ Ticketing: To enter a Scarecrow: community ($50), business ($50), junior ($25) To view the Scarecrow Trail: No cost
