What: The Admiral’s Own Big Band present Swingin’ Seasons–a concert in 4 parts.
Our next Soundwaves concert, “Swingin’ Seasons”, will showcase a varied set of classic dance band numbers from the Admiral’s Own Big Band. We invite you to bask in the hot Calypso sounds of “Sundance”, relive our recent June winds with “Stormy Weather” and look forward with optimism to “Blue Skies”. At this concert we will introduce the Big Band’s new singer, Able Seaman Kirsten Hobbs; and an exciting pianist sent direct from Sydney, Able Seaman Julian Foord. Looking further ahead, our Concert Band will share the stage with renowned organist Tony Fenelon OAM on Sunday 24 August. He will be showing off the full capability of the 1933 Compton 3/17 organ installed at Malvern Town Hall. If you were wondering, “3/17” means that the organ has 3 manuals (which look like piano keyboards) and 17 ranks or sets of pipes; you’ll be impressed when you hear it!
When: Wednesday 13 August from 2 pm and 7 pm
Where: HMAS CERBERUS Band complex. Stony Point Rd, Crib Point.
