What: Music on the Hill – MOTH
Music on the Hill – or MOTH – is a new monthly music venue in Red Hill that brings great Australian talent to one of Victoria’s most popular regional areas.
Presenting a variety of national and international touring and recording artists and supported by the best local talent.
MOTH is a venue with a difference, it features a capacity of 100, an intimately comfortable atmosphere, excellent sound quality and soft lighting – all ensuring that the music is the focus.
The organisers, who are Red Hill locals, have created a welcoming and friendly environment where accomplished singer songwriters perform to music lovers in an intimate setting. They aim to develop a warm, social atmosphere and nurture a genuine music club feel.
Line up: Singer songwriter James Kenyon was born and raised in South Australia and is now based in Melbourne. His song writing is a view from a car or a busted metal bridge or a window in a hall. James’ debut album The North Pole is available now at http://www.vitamin.net.au/
Local singer songwriter Paul Dillon brings his troubadour spirit to MOTH on Friday Nov 7.
Tash Parker is from the ancient, steep-sided mountain ranges and cracking clays of the Kimberley in North Western Australia, and Emma Anglesey grew up in the high, rocky, dolerite cliffs and fertile valleys of the Great Western Tiers in Tasmania. Both established singer songwriters and musicians in their own right, together they’ve formed The Land.
Where: Red Hill Pavilion
When: First Friday of the Month. Next is Fri Nov 7
Tickets: $20 for adults and $10 for children (17 years and under) and are available through TryBooking.
MOTH is an initiative by the Red Hill Football and Netball Club and The Red Hill Football club. MOTH supports Red Hill sporting clubs and profits go towards the clubs, the artists and the hiring of equipment on the night.
