What: Strings Workshops 31 May and 20 June 2015
A full day workshop for violin, viola, cello and double bass students conducted by tutors from Melbourne Chamber Orchestra (MCO). Then a professional rehearsal and performance of a short work with the full string section of the MCO at its PMS Winter Solstice Festival concert.
Repertoire: Students will receive a kit prior to the workshops containing music to prepare in advance with their teacher. Pieces will be rehearsed in the workshop with a selection chosen for the concert.
Cost: The fee for the program is $30. Payment may be made by cheque or money order to Peninsula Music Society Bursary Fund OR by direct deposit, ANZ: Peninsula Music Society Inc. Session 1: Sunday 31 May. Workshop at The Peninsula School 10am – 5pm (lunch provided) includes a mini performance for families at 4:30pm
Session 2: Saturday 20 June. Peninsula Community Theatre from around 4pm – workshop & rehearsal (light meal provided) 7:30pm – 9:30pm – public performance during the MCO concert
Eligibility: Students who have achieved a minimum level of AMEB Grade 5 or equiv. and with a family home address in the Mornington Peninsula region.
