It’s been an exciting couple of weeks for the Arts on the Peninsula!

In July the Rye mural project done by visiting French artist Michael Husser was launched.  Michael also stayed at Police Point Shire Park for a short term artist residency.  This project has been an initiative of the Arts & Culture Strategy – A Creative Peninsula and coordinated by Jo Ridgeway Southern Peninsula Arts Development Officer.

On Monday 17 August 2015 the newly improved Norm Clark Walk Rosebud was a buzz as Councillors David Gibb & Graham Pittock launched a mural done by Red Hill artist Michael Leeworthy.  This project began in 2013 when the Rosebud Chamber of Commerce was looking to inspire a positive change to the graffiti tagged ugly and forgotten about laneway.  The previous painted panels on the walls were old and irrelevant and with a Streetscape enhancement program about to begin, an application was made to the Shire’s Creative Community Grant program along with help from the now defunct  Ward Allowance from Councillor David Gibb a wonderfully improved laneway has come to life.
