Who: Jakubi with Bloom & Big Creature (Free Show)
Jakubi is a Melbourne-based band composed of two brothers, two cousins and one friend whose love for producing music brought them together and whose pure talent propelled them forward.
Jakubi’s unique flavor stems from an irresistible combination of jangly guitars, hip-hop beats and sailing synth rhythms. Flawlessly melding the sounds of a talk box one minute and reggae-inspired guitar the next, the band’s infectious experimental songs are guaranteed to get everyone dancing.
The band’s latest single, “Couch Potato,” earned the praise of the king of pop culture commentary himself, Perez Hilton, who says, “It’s so dope! They’ve got a real laid-back, positive vibe that’s infectious.” The playful video for the track features a couch coasting down the street and was filmed by dragging the couch behind a car, a stunt that accidentally got the band featured on “Highway Patrol,” a national television show in Australia.
May and June will see the Australian band heading off on its second North American tour in under a year. Including a series of headlining shows and festival performances, this is definitely one tour not to miss.

Who: Paul Dempsey ‘Strange Loop’ Album Tour with special guest Olympia
“One of Australia’s most respected and intimidatingly talented songwriters of the 21st century returns with his second solo record, and it’s captivating.”
‘Strange Loop’ reveals a super-charged Dempsey; his voice more potent and powerful than ever, his stories and characters magnified, his instrumentation more adventurous and playful. It’s an album that sounds like doing what you want, and actually getting it right. Most musicians would be content with being involved in a single much-loved project, especially one as constantly rewarded as Something for Kate (double figures for ARIA Awards nominations, winners of Triple J’s Album of the Year, multiple top ten albums), but ‘Strange Loop’ is confirmation that Dempsey will alternate between the beautifully rigorous noise he makes with Stephanie Ashworth and Clint Hyndman and his own diverse solo career.
‘Strange Loop’ contains compelling pocket universes, at once uniquely identifiable as one of our great artists at work, but also indicative of fresh forms. It’s a dazzlingly intimate record, alive to the very pleasure of being alive…
Main opening act for Paul on this tour will be Melbourne songstress Olympia who recently released her debut album ‘Self Talk’ to critical acclaim.

Who: Alex Lloyd with band ‘Acoustica’
With more than 30 album releases so far, Liberation Blue makes a welcome return of the label’s ‘Acoustic’ series with our first long player for 2016: ‘Acoustica’, 12 stunning, re-worked classic tunes spanning the career of ARIA winner and multi-platinum singer/songwriter Alex Lloyd.
“It was certainly something I’d thought of doing before,” Lloyd says of the Acoustica recording, the singer’s seventh full-length release. With four ARIAs already under his belt, Lloyd was intrigued with the concept of revisiting his older material. Expect to hear radio hits ‘Amazing’, ‘Coming Home’, ‘Beautiful’, ‘Black The Sun’ and more, his extensive catalogue getting a brand new lease of life.
“This project came along at a perfect time for me,” says Lloyd.
“Doing these recordings really helped create a spark in me – it’s been great to re-address these songs, and I’m really happy how it’s turned out.”
In celebration of this special & unique release, Alex has put together an intimate version of his band and will be heading out across Australia on a National Tour in September & October, where everyone will be able to hear these wonderful new interpretations themselves.
