What: Please join us to celebrate coming Out of the darkness and into a new season with this moving exhibition by local artist Insingane. Insingane, meaning sweetheart in Zulu is the childhood nickname of Seaford local Nicoleen Agnello.
Drawing inspiration from a dark period in her own story this exhibition explores the feelings of depression and loneliness and coming out the other side. Sgraffito techniques are used in an African art, where cement rendered walls are covered in ink or paint and then scratched back to create pattern,
Insingane calls her works Sgraffiti as she utilises a modern version of this technique to create raw urban images. Median price range is $300 for a limited edition framed print.
Where: Bear and Cub Café 37 Armstrong Rd Seaford.
When: Opening Thursday 15 Sept at 10.30am. Exhibition open until 15 Oct.
