Hugh Mackay and Brett Jackson are currently lighting up the back paddock studio in Somerville with some stunning works that they have created from their ‘plein air roamings’ across the Peninsula over the last 12 months.
They have called it Ground Zero… created in situ, usually in 1-2 hours it is an immediate response to the place and time of making. Sites are chosen at random from the Mornington Peninsula and Dandenong Ranges and not seen as an end in themselves but as a starting point, ‘a ground zero’ of creative inquiry. The time frame adds an explosive factor of nuclear proportions to the work. Back Paddock Studio is very excited to host their first collaborative exhibition.
