This month members of ADFAS will hear about a town in the southern reaches of Indiana with an extraordinary architectural legacy.
Columbus has some 60 buildings listed as national landmarks of modernist American architecture the result of the vision and passion of local businessman J. Irwin Miller, the long-time CEO of the Cummins Corporation. Miller transformed his hometown into a modernist utopia with nearly all of its public edifices and community spaces designed by world-leading architects.
In this talk Dr Matthew Laing, a research fellow at Monash University, will take the audience on a virtual tour of the town and the modernist architectural vision that underpins it.
Where: Peninsula Community Theatre, Wilsons Rd, Mornington
When: Friday, March 24th from 5.30 – 7.00pm
