“Sampler Selection with Fibre Reactive (Procion MX) Dyes” This workshop will give you hands-on experience in traditional techniques, including low-water immersion dyeing, ice-dyeing and spiral dyeing and introduces exciting stamping, stencilling and mono-printing opportunities, using thickened dyes, to design and create your own fabric art cloth.

What: Exhibition by Lisa and Naup Waup titled Threaded Journey
You are invited to the opening of Threaded Journey. Both Lisa and Naup will be expressing the diverse roles through their own gender and backgrounds with their connections to the string bag. One notion in this dual exhibition is to explore and investigate the process to rediscover and to understand the multi-cultural layering of ties that both Australia and Papua New Guinea has had for thousands of years. Using the string bag as a cultural focus connecting Lisa and Naup’s diverse yet connected backgrounds. Naup will be doing a performance piece on the story of the bilum (string bag).

What: The latest exhibition in the Mornington Library Foyer Exhibition Space are beautiful small quilts from the Mornington Peninsula Patchworkers Inc. Titled ‘Confetti Naturescapes’ the quilts were made by members of the group who had applied to the Mornington Peninsula Shire through the annual Arts Stream Community Grants to hold a ‘skills development workshop’. The group are now keen to demonstrate to other quilters and groups interested in the exciting technique.
